Feeding is an activity that all humans share. Food is the fuel that the body needs to complete other daily occupations that are important. However, when feeding is interrupted or difficult, the body is unable to function properly. This not only affects the person who is not eating, but also those around them. According to Lyndal Franklin and Sylvia Rodger (2003) in the article Parents’ Perspectives on Feeding Medically Compromised Children: Implications for Occupational Therapy, parents are affected psychologically when their children experience difficulties with feeding due to a chronic health condition.
