She was about to endure high school. One of first day, we could not fathom the idea of having a new school, teachers, friends, and activities. She missed her teachers from 8th grade that she got attached to. Once the first couple of weeks of school passed by, she had the time of her life. High School was a roller coaster for Ashlynn.…
Being That James was one of smartest kids in his school, he never felt like he fit in much. He was never considered unpopular or lame but he always felt different from everyone else. Every day for him was a day closer to graduation, which is where he would part from what he described as the children of the corn. Attending Fredrick Douglass High School was exactly where he wanted to be, considering that it was the best tech high school in the city of Atlanta. One thing that he didn’t anticipate was sharing a class with loud, rude, disrespectful children.…
Now that I am in Whiteoak High School my friend Blade has decided to come join me. For our last year of high school, we are also moving in together. That way we have practice for college, and years to come. The road is long but with my new friends I am going to make a new group. That will last for years to come to save others.…
I was afraid to sharpen a pencil in second grade. My most vivid elementary school memories spring from instances when I was being reprimanded by an adult for doing something wrong. I did everything in my power to avoid those dreadful moments, but they still presented themselves on occasion. Even now I feel a pit in my stomach when I recall the way I felt during those times, regardless of the fact that almost all of them would easily roll off my back if they occurred today.…
Walking into Kekionga Middle School I noticed a lot of differences from schools that I had visited previously. The most visible one being the school’s population and location. I had never observed at an urban school and have never felt such a cultural difference between me and the students. With a school population that was so diverse and not within the same background as I was, I immediately started thinking about my future teaching career and what I would do in that kind of atmosphere. I later on asked Mrs. Parker why she chose this school and said that it was because she went to Fort Wayne Community Schools all of her life, so she did not feel change at all.…
Even though everyone who goes to Shakopee High School knows about this situation, they do not know how much it has significantly affected my life. My life changed last year in so many ways. In some ways this has given me more opportunities, but in most cases this event has negatively changed everything around me. Worst of all it has made me lose many friends, given me a bad reputation, and has made everyone think that I am someone that I am not. People I had never met did not like me, discriminated against me in some situations; but on the other hand, it has showed me who my real friends are because they continued to persevere by my side and stuck with me through all of the tough times.…
The Power to Win must come from Within Before I entered the school I looked it up on a webpage Zillow.com. I know that my mom and my sister would use it a lot. Especially when they were looking into moving houses or buying a home. Tulip Grove Elementary school had a rating of 8 out of 10. For me that tells me that the school is considered as a school that is above average.…
In August 2010, I stepped onto United States territory for the first time. My older brother, my mom, and I arrived at the bus station. It was crowded and people were desperately trying to get their luggage. My body felt the heat as soon as we got off the bus. The clouds were removed from the sky and the shiny sun was all by itself.…
It had been a few weeks since your parents died in a tragic plane crash, though you didn’t feel all that sad. Of course, you were slightly upset, but it wasn’t that bad. Your parents had never really built an emotional bond with you. They were more like dictators, they forced you to be the three P’s: posh, proper, and polite. When you wanted to play outside with the other kids, they shook their head in distaste, your mother telling you that’s not what ladies do.…
The summer between my sophomore year and junior year was a life changing period. For one, my mother and I moved to Waco, Texas, an 8-hour drive from my home of Weslaco. Along with this new address, I also had a new school. Naturally, I went to the school nearest my home, Connally High School. I didn’t know it on my first day of school, but Connally High School would become my 2nd out of 3 high schools I would attend.…
Alex Wang English 10H Ms. Denchfield 10/13/15 Day 1 Alone, yet encompassed by the masses. Sequoia Middle School. The previous day, I had come and registered at this school, so consequently I had no idea what to expect, where to go, and who I was going to meet, seeing as how I hadn’t gone to orientation and didn’t have any idea about what this school was like. The first person that I happened to converse with was a yard duty of whom I asked for directions. He seemed to be a younger male, average height, somewhat skinny, and overall a nice person.…
Since moving to Bettendorf for my High School years I have learned more than I could imagine and for that, I will be grateful for forever. I have learned more about myself, more in school, and most importantly I have learned from my mistakes including how to fix them to prevent myself from ever making them again. Everyone makes mistakes and may possibly get in trouble for these. I will never forget Bettendorf High School nor February 28th, 2018. February 28th was a day that has changed how I think about my best friends, and also made think about everyone a lot more than I did before.…
This is my very last day at Lakefront highschool before I move to Mountain View High and I could not be regretting it more. My dad got a new job in Missouri and we have to move there. The thought just rushed to my brain, I have to leave my very best friend behind that I’ve known since pre-school. Right as I walked into school I gave her the biggest hug I have ever given someone. It made mine and her face turn red as I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed her to the point she couldn’t breath.…
“Mom can you drive me in five minutes, I'm going to be late,” it was the first day at my new school, Oakwood High. We had just moved here because of my dad's job, you’d think I’d be used to it by now because in the past three years we have moved six times. That means six different times I had to be the new girl. Again. “Ya sure, I’ll be in the car.…
My Magnet for Miracles It was 9 o’clock and my sister and I were doing our nightly ritual of brushing our teeth, washing our faces, and making funny faces in the bathroom mirror. As the younger sister, I would do anything to make my sister laugh. I would stretch my face in the most impressive ways and pull the weirdest faces you can possibly imagine in the bathroom mirror. After my face could not move anymore without hurting, we’d go to our bedroom that we shared for 7 years.…
