The internship that I had a few years ago was an amazing experience that I was so thankful to God and my high school for giving me such an awesome opportunity that I will always remember. The internship opportunity has helped to know what a nurse truly entails and decided that I want to be a nurse. One reason is I want to pursue nursing because as a child I was diagnosed with primary tuberculosis where I had to undergo ongoing treatments for about six months. Where I have to go to the hospital for every month and I also had to take medicine that is so bitter which I don’t like three times every day for six months long. At that moment, there was a lot of things that I thought while dealing with this pain for six months. There are times that I wish if I can just end everything already. However, looking at the nurses and doctors who tried their best to treat me and make me better made me realize that I should not give up just yet. The compassion that I see through the nurses’ eyes while treating me made jealous and wanted to have that eyes too in the future.
