The thread of nurse informatics has become a part of most schools’ curriculum. Both the National League for Nursing’s and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s accrediting agencies have added beginning informatics as a curriculum requirement (Thede, 2012). Informatics is essential in nursing education and is now offered at the graduate level for both nursing informatics and healthcare informatics to train knowledgeable personnel. Although nurse informatics is essential, barriers still exist. These barriers include the lack of system integration, failure to implement informatics principles and inadequate screen (Thede, 2012).
