“Individuals may find employment throughout the country in hospitals, medical centers, nursing homes, public health agencies, and imaging centers.” (Career Guidance Center) Knowing nuclear medicine is being practice around the country is a huge opportunity, if happen to move for any type of reason there is a huge possibility a job in nuclear medicine will be open depending if it is in a hospital, medical centers, or any other place that person desires to work at. Even being transferred is an opportunity because traveling will help the person learn more and understand what else the nuclear medicine technologist can improve. If it has to deal with the machines, how to treat the patient, or understand the diagnoses/treatments of the patient. “Nuclear medicine technologist held about 20,700 jobs in 2014. The industries that employed the most nuclear medicine technologist were; Hospitals, state, local and private 69%, offices of physicians 20%, medical and diagnostics laboratories 6% and outpatient care centers 2%. (U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics) The information above shows the highest to lowest percentage of where most nuclear medicine technologists work at. Knowing the employment rate is very important if ever what to move to a specific state or a specific job area.
