Noah's Ark Analysis

“Then God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.” The biblical flood comprises chapters 6-9 in the Book of Genesis of the Bible. The chapters state God’s disgust of what humanity had become, and his intentions to cleanse the earth. One man and his family were picked by God to build an ark and save a male/female of each animal. God’s intentions led to Noah’s Ark. In Robert R. Cargill’s essay (2010), he states that “a group called Noah’s Ark Ministries International (NAMI)...claims to have discovered Noah’s Ark”. Cargill uses a multitude of evidence to disarm NAMI and their false claims, including evidence of: previous flood stories; two flood epics depicted in the Bible; using statistics to state that there is not enough water on earth for such a flood; and combating any other theories that can jump over the hoops of science. If all of the polar ice caps melted, earth will be considerably damaged with many of the world’s great cities under water. Even with all of this damage, “the thaw would only slightly affect the world’s coastlines” (Cargill, ). Cargill continues with entertaining the possibility of an ice-asteroid. From a scientific standpoint, he asks “were water to enter Earth’s system, where did it all go?” and from a bible standpoint, he points out that “the Bible says it ‘rained’ and the ‘springs of the deep’ opened” (Cargill, ).
