I really enjoyed reading this book and going throw all the changes and learning experience with the writer Colin Beavan. It really made me aware how much trashes each one of us consuming and on top of everything else how much trash is being disbursed in a fast food restaurants. After reading how Colin transforms to use reusable bags and uses bottles for dairy products it brought back memories from my childhood. The whole family transform within a year they went from eating out almost every night to learning how to cook, Mr. Beavan even learned to make his own bread I was very impressed by it, it is very time consuming processed and it is not easy to learn, to giving up TV, car and elevator.

I grow up in Russia where we had no other choice but consume less and use what we have. I would wear cloth that was passes from my sister to me; we only bought what we absolutely needed. We had a trash can that only contained food waste since there was no packaged food. Once every two weeks my mom would go to the market where she would buy fruits and vegetables that were grown at the farm and she would use reusable bag that was made out of a fabric. My mom would wash the dishes, wash the floors and filled containers with water for the next day. In the summer time my mom would pickle tomatoes and cucumbers; she prepared strawberry, peach and raspberry jam for the winter as well as fruits compotes. How simple things amazed this young child. As an adult, we usually rush throw life without stopping for a moment and just enjoying the scenery around us and a smell of fresh air, even if it is polluted. We are too busy just being busy. I rushed throw the week and I make sure that my weekend is even busier, with different activities that I love to plan for my kids. After reading this book I’m more concourse and enjoy doing simply activities with my kids like taking long walks outside and bike ridings. It would be awesome to have a public transportation system that can accommodate everyone where there would be enough space to take my bicycle and enough space for people with strollers or luggage. It would be awesome as well to live in a village where everything is a walking distance. Unfortunately right now this is not suitable at this
