Obviously, someone could of been around him that was a threat and he would have not noticed him. To add to that, once Christopher was explaining that he would get so focused into something he would lose all connections to the outside world. “And this is like me too because if I get really interested in something, like…., I do not notice anything else and father could be calling me to come and get my supper and I will not hear him”(73). Evidently, he realises he does this, however he does not realize that there are important actions going on around him. Adding to that, there was one point in the book and Christopher gets so focused into a man he almost misses his train. “And I saw a man with a newspaper and a bag of golf clubs go up to one of the doors of the train and press the big button next to it and the doors were electronic and they slid open and I liked that. And the doors closed behind him”(154). Patently, he has a small issue where he gets into something. Christopher was once lost trying to find his train station, so he asked someone for directions. “And she said “you can see it from here.” “And I said no I can’t….””(138). When Christopher heard these words he thought that he would actually be able to see a building/train in one of the directions. Another, reason for why he interprets words the wrong way is because he does not understand lie,so if someone were to tell a lie he would think it was completely true with no question. “ Which meant that the letter was posted on 16 October 1997, which was 18 months after mother had died. As one can see, Christopher has a really hard time distinguishing weather people words are true or false.
