What do you think is worse failing or never trying? There are some people who believe that never trying is worse because if you don’t try then you won’t know if you’re good at something or not. Others believe that failing is worse because they don’t want to embarrass themselves if they failing. In this essay I will be including quotes from Anthem by Ayn Rand, the Emancipation Proclamation by Abraham Lincoln, the Greek Mythology Prometheus, and the critical thinking video from Leo. I will also include the opinions that my fellow students had brought up during a socratic seminar to support what I believe. In my opinion never trying is worse than failing.

The video talks about what critical thinking is and why it’s important. Critical thinking will allow you to solve many problems and helps figure out problems by yourself. Never trying is worse than failing because if you try something and fail then you will be able to ask questions about it or to think about what you have done wrong.Thinking about the problem yourself you’d be able to gain a deeper understanding. Just because you fail at something doesn’t really mean you failed you just learned what not to do the next time. Sometimes you have to just try things on your own even if you fail because not everything is not going to be handed to you. So, in my opinion if you never tried then that’s when you actually fail.I believe that because if you’ll never know if you’re going to mess up or fail at doing something if you don’t try and if you do end up failing you are able to learn from your mistakes. When you don’t try then you don’t learn anything and you don’t know if you would actually be able to accomplish what you didn’t try. People don’t try things because they are afraid that they’ll fail and people would laugh or make fun of them. I think that doesn’t matter because at least I had the courage to try something new and am able to learn from it. I would be able to think about the mistakes that I made and learn what could be done differently the next
