Incubators are special to the NICU, because it keeps the baby warm, protect it from noise,light and infection, Preemies and ill patients that is located in the NICU are continuously monitored to make sure they are healthy and still managing to stay alive. Their usually connected to: Feeding Tubes, Cardiac Monitors, Respiratory Monitors, and IV equipment. Some babies are too weak or too small, to eat on their own. So they are hooked up to a feeding tube, so they can gain weight. A feeding tube can be runned from the mouth or the nose, to the stomach.
