Organization is a key factor in the development of my leadership skills, as well as in my overall success in life. I enjoy making to-do lists and charts, to remind myself of upcoming tasks. Lists are one of the several ways I minimize the stress and anxiety everyday life tends to bring upon me. I consider myself to be a role model to others, exhibiting character traits that one would like to follow. I attend Sunday School class every Sunday, and at times the class attendees take turns leading the class. Although public speaking is something that can be a bit nerve wracking at times for me, it’s good to step out of my comfort zone and experience something new. I particularly enjoy babysitting my pastors’ children. They’re six and three years old, and the six year old is mildly autistic. Being responsible, respectful, and honest are attributes I follow in my daily life. In March, I attended the “Love Shouldn’t Hurt” conference. I originally heard about the conference from a friend at the beginning of the school year, and was excited to attend. Throughout the conference, I attended two workshops in which I learned about dating abuse and “safety planning” to escape a bad relationship. I learned a lot of a valuable information during this conference that I’ve since shared with others, and will continue to share in hopes of helping someone through a difficult situation.
