Hungry for adventure and in need to do something great in life I decided to join the Army National Guard. I was 17 years old with a mixture of nervous excitement in my gut, scared of the unknown. That is what I felt the day that I left home to begin my journey in the military world. After a long day of traveling I finally arrived to Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The bus doors opened, and a Drill Sergeant came in yelling all kinds of instructions. At that point I finally realized Basic Combat Training was a huge challenge that I was determined to overcome no matter what.
