So, I started to be myself and people saw the person that Sarah and Katherine saw in me. They saw me learn how to socialize and make friends until I was friends with nearly everyone in the school. That is a huge transformation from the girl who was quiet and friendless. Those two former teachers gave me identities to look up to and strive to emulate. They told me I could improve myself and grow, and that I can still keep improving to this

“Shes coming back right?” a baffled 7 year old asks in response to the appalling news of her mother’s death. A vibrant imagination is accompanied by a crushing pain of reality that trails behind it ; I discovered this when I heard the words “no” . 10 years later, that conversation lingers in my head and holds not a cacophonous nor euphonious sound, but instead holds the neutral tone of reality, an alarm . As routine , at 6a.m., I hear a melodious alarm followed by the pitter-patter of my aunt who is getting ready for work.…

One social transformation I went through would be a change of views on how I see the world, second would be my interest and hobbies, doing and liking things that I wouldn’t particularly thought I would even like or do. Identity forms an important part of the tell-tale heart. The identity of the narrator and their perception of self and their own insanity forms part of the short story’s overall charm and mystique. Poe as a writer is very aware of the effect his writing has on readers and purposefully crafts this character along with the character of the old man in order to create an intimate and suspenseful piece of writing. By following his own Gothic manifesto Poe is able to utilise his writing and narration within the story to “then combine(s) such events as may best aid him in establishing this preconceived effect.” (Poe, Review of Hawthorne, 1842)…

This claim is witnessed in the emergence of internet technology, which was meant to connect people globally, it is being used by malicious people to commit fraud. The rise of social media has made people take in new personas, while it now easy to change one’s name or social security number.…

We all have different sides to us that change when we’re around family, friends, co-workers or even our significant other. But which one of those is the real us? Maybe it’s none of those; maybe it’s who we are when we’re alone. When we’re surrounded by certain people our personality shifts, not a significant amount, but we change. We can be calm, quite, goody two shoes with family and co-workers, but with friends we’re the craziest, most daring one in the group, and then with our significant other we can be a little bit of both, or shy and relaxed.…
