Day 1
I recently went on a trip to Europe with my mom, dad, brother, grandma, and grandpa. It was like living out the movie National Lampoon’s European Vacation but with two more people. I experienced a lot of cool and funny stuff throughout the trip and took some pretty cool pictures. So, I thought why not share the experience with you all? Every day I’ll write my experience of each day on my vacation and post pictures as well. The first day might be a bit boring compared to the others because we didn’t get a lot accomplished that day but read it anyways. It 's like the prologue of my awesome story :).

However, I actually didn’t mind it. I think that Paris is beautiful in the rain. The rain sticks to the windows of the car and Parisians are walking around in colorful rain boots and classic black umbrellas. Umbrellas, by the way, were our first souvenirs. After admiring Paris through the windows of our Uber, we were finally dropped off at our Air BnB apartment in Saint Germain. We climbed up the small, wooden, uneven spiral staircase that had to be at least 100 years old. When we walked into our apartment, it had to be the smallest apartment I have seen in my life. It was probably the size of my living room. There were two small futons in the ‘living’ room, a small bedroom, a kitchenette, a toilet, and a shower. Somehow we managed to fit six people in there. After we settled down and put all of our stuff away, it was around dinner time. So, we ventured into the streets of Paris in the rain and quickly realized that there were no restaurants open on Sundays. Panicking and hungry we were determined to find food and we did. We were about 3 blocks away from our apartment and we found a small creperie. It was like a food truck but in a building if that makes sense. There was a window where we could watch him make the crepes in front of us and ordered from outside. I, having an obsession with Nutella, obviously ordered a Nutella crepe. I soon realized that it was a bad decision once I got melted Nutella all over my hands, jacket, and …show more content…
Mind you, it was around 6 pm and I have gone 24 hours with 4 hours of sleep, but I was in Paris for a short time and wanted to get as many things done as possible. After I took a shower, I sat on the couch watching French television while waiting for everyone else to get ready. The next thing I knew, my mother was waking me up. I was so confused and for some reason I thought it was the next morning. My mom told it was not. She told me that we both fell asleep on the wrong side of the bed and that we were going to the Eiffel Tower another day. I was really upset for a couple of seconds and then quickly drifted back to sleep.
Moral of the story: Jet lag sucks, don’t plan a lot on your first day, and don’t come to Paris on a

The purpose of a mission trip is not to save everyone or solve hunger. Many people who take mission trip have this mentality, and I 'm not going to lie, my first mission trip this is what I expected. I believed that I was going to be the one person to go down and “change” the people. This idea is far from reality, but I realize that you can make a difference in some people’s lives. I have taken a few mission trips to the Dominican Republic, where I have built relationships with the people down there.…

The most eventful thing I have done this summer was going to Turkey Run. It’s two hours away from Wheatfield, and it’s in Marshall. The drive was pretty long on the way there, my mom had to run an errand or two and then we went to McDonalds for lunch. Then we just continued our drive there. We entered a different time zone on the way there, it was an hour ahead than the time here in Jasper County.…

We ate dinner, went shopping, got ice cream and finally arrived back at our condo around ten. The best part about that night? The fact that no one remembered there key thinking that surely someone else would bring theirs. Every locksmith in town was closed so we ended up sleeping in the Escalade. The family adventure of ‘07 turned out to be so much more than what any of us had bargained for.…

I took a vacation to Italy. There was a lot of beautiful scenery, wonderful food, and so much more. I visited Rome, Venice, and Florence, went to the beaches, ate lots of Italian food, and went June 18-25th so it would not be too hot or too cold. First, I had to figure out what all I needed for my trip to Italy, I discovered I had to get a passport to even enter the country.” Passports should have at least six months remaining validity beyond your departure date.…

Each year, a pilgrimage to the Florida or Alabama gulf coast is a highly anticipated and enjoyed event for my family. In the beginning, it was just my wife and I. Man oh man, these trips were some of the most relaxing times that I can remember. Now, our yearly “beach fest” includes our two children, Kaylee and Garrett. While this is still a wonderful family event, I no longer use the phrase “relaxing”. Elbert Hubbard once said, “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who just had one”.…

When I was younger, I did not necessarily know what the earth holds, I was just used to my house and the places around me. I wondered what the universe had, the world’s whereabouts remained secret in my eyes until I could travel and explore. But, I have not been far outside of Minnesota. I have always wanted to travel the world, except my family does not like going farther than to work and back, it is just something they do not want to do. One day when I was about seven years old my mom and dad decided that it would be a good idea to make a family trip to look back on.…

Christmas break in my opinion is probably the second best brake that we have throughout our school year. The main thing I like about Christmas break is how long it is. But even though I like how long we are off school it's almost like we don't have a break because basketball takes over. We get a few days off but the rest of the days are hitting the gym early in the mornings for two to three hours a day. The days I have is the best thing in the world because I get to relax and do something fun for once.…
