This letter is to express my support for Christine Hoang in her application for the Schoenstein Sustaining Excellence Scholarship. I have been a close friend of Christine and I have come to know her quite well over the past six years. In my interactions with Christine, she always tends to her commitments with great diligence. Christine is guaranteed to be committed whenever she comes across an opportunity or interest. One of her many interests includes social issues that affect everyday people.…
I am willing to bet that there are many astonishing young men and women who have applied for this scholarship. I am also willing to bet there are a fair amount of applicants who meet the unwritten standards needed to receive this scholarship. I will not boast promises of outstanding grades or how this money could build my future. Instead, I will tell of my past, allowing my personality speak for itself. Growing up my parents always encouraged my siblings and me to stay true to ourselves, whether that is morally, mentally, and/or physically.…
Dear National Honor Society Faculty Selection Committee, As a student that cares deeply about my academics, I am honored to be selected to be a potential member of National Honor Society. Being chosen for this prestigious association has always been a goal of mine because of the high standards I set for myself as a student, and a member of the community. In the procession of this letter, I hope to convince you of my ability to uphold all of the standards outlined in our application letter.…
I feel like I am a good candidate for this scholarship because, as a senior, any and all money earned and received will help me ease the burden of attending college. My goal throughout my whole childhood was to receive a full ride scholarship to the college of my dreams; however, as time has gone on and I have matured I have come to the realization that, that dream is not as achievable as I once believed it to be. I have worked hard, inside and outside of the classroom, making the grades and creating the resume that colleges are looking for, and in response I have been offered tuition waivers. Which ultimately means I am still responsible for paying for my books, room and board, part of the tuition cost, and mandatory fees.…
In twenty years, as a board member of a scholarship selection committee, I would award the 17-year-old me a scholarship not because I am simply answering the prompt in my favor, but because I know that the 17-year-old me's dream is to go to college to gain a higher education and has made learning a high priority since elementary school. The 17-year-old me is determined, hard-working, and understands the struggle of having little money, so I would know that the scholarship would not go to waste; she would use it so that her parents can ease their worry about how she is going to go to college, since they are not able to make any contributions. Knowing that her family earns little income, she has spent most of her high school years dedicating her time to her schoolwork, hoping that she would be qualified to earn scholarships during her senior year. During the other majority of her time, she has volunteered for over 300 hours at various locations and participating in school clubs and activities.…
The values and standards of National Honor Society are the four important pillars of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. A person needs to represent all four pillars to uphold the honor of National Honor Society, just like a table with four legs must balance a table. I have developed through the years to be a strong leader, holding the table of scholarship, leadership, service, and character and I would be so very honored to hold this leadership with National Honor Society. Scholarship is holding myself to a high standard, academically and socially. I display a strong sense of scholarship as I have maintained the Highest Honor Roll each grade of my High School career, Middle School and even Elementary School, I love to learn!…
Avid Scholarship Essay There's always certain people in life that tell you goals are important. They start asking why people set goals for themselves if they already know it's too hard or impossible to achieve. I always believed the same thing. I never thought goals were important till I started growing up and set some goals for myself.…
Last year I was selected by the Kiwanis to receive a scholarship for my dedication and hard work. Now that I have the opportunity to run for office, I would love to be able to give back to the Kiwanis through Key Club. For several years, I have been involved with helping the community. I have been dedicated to P.A.W.S. and the San Diego Humane Society, as well as helping the kids in the La Mesa Spring Valley School District.…
Moreover, I deserve this scholarship because I have great plans for my future. I am going to attend the University of Missouri and major in Health Science starting in the fall of 2017. I am immensely excited about this next step in my life, and I am already planning to study abroad for a semester in…
By joining Mighty Writers’ Teen Scholars Program, I hope to achieve multiple goals. The first goal I hope to achieve is to sufficiently prepare for college. My second goal is to become a more avid reader and better writer. That includes improving my writing and analytical skills. Furthermore, I also hope to improve my communication skills and be less hesitant to speak up about my opinions.…
Along with the activities mentioned, I have also maintained a 4.0 GPA and am the senior class treasurer. I believe the amount and diversity of activities I am involved in show that I am ready and capable to handle the world outside of high school. If I were awarded with this scholarship, I would be able to use it to further my education to keep on the track of serving others, and ultimately working to make the world a better…
I believe I should be considered for an endowed scholarship because throughout my first year at Loyola I’ve showcased my commitment towards being a top student and an advocate for social justice that embodies the values under Loyola’s mission. During my first year, I challenged myself with a rigorous academic plan and reached my goal of performing my best as reflected by my GPA. I also improved on my weaknesses and discovered new strengths that I will carry on throughout my life. I believe my academic achievements showcase my drive to make the most of my time here as a student, and gaining a scholarship will allow me to continue to focus on my studies.…
For the past two years I have been a student at North High School. I’ve enjoyed my time there and I will keep attending North High School until I graduate. Although I believe the academics are great at North High School, I feel the need for myself to expand academically and do something in addition to just studying at North High School. I feel that joining a program outside of school will help me meet my goal of becoming a Pediatrician quicker than only attending high school. There are 100s of programs in Arizona that could help me with my goals.…
Although my athletic scholarship helps pay for my college education, it is important to take other factors into consideration, such as injuries. If I have an injury while playing baseball I no longer can play professionally, but a college degree lasts a lifetime. The light bulb has gone off and I need to try my hardest in my classes and take advantage of all the opportunities I am provided. The main goal of college is to earn an education, and the sports are just a bonus.…
Essay I am grateful for this opportunity to apply for the Viola B. Wilson Endowed Scholarship and the John S. Staley Memorial Fund scholarships. Scholarship opportunities have been of particular importance to me; I paid for my undergraduate education primarily on my own and will be paying for my graduate schooling on my own as well. While I am asking for financial help, my work ethic and commitment to education are a strong part of who I am. Growing up, it was my responsibility to pay for things that I wanted, and my parents provided me with work opportunities around the house to earn the money.…
