My Personal Experience With Anxiety Disorder

I've always been the type of person that was extremely anxious and cautious of everything around me. Being that I hate for people to see the weaker side of me, I've never fessed up to my anxiety. I've never actually been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, either but, after a recent panic attack, I knew that something was wrong.

I had an experience recently where I completely shut down over my everyday life. It was something so simple. In the end, all I had to do was sit down and think it out. At that very moment, It stressed me out though. I didn't know what was going on because it had never been this bad. I've always had little moments where I'm anxious or nervous about something, but this time, it was so different. My body seemed to freeze for a minute. It was like I could feel my breath stop, I didn't know what to do. After crying for so long, I had to sit myself down and work through it. I honestly don't know what finally got me out of the trans I was in, but I'm so glad it happened.

It's like seeing someone on antidepressants and their body is just lifelessly there. They have no emotion and no feelings. That's what I want to avoid. I don't want my body to just sit there. I actually done research and found some things to help it. One of the main things that helped me was writing. Writing out my feelings at that very moment got me through it. Another thing is counting every color around me. Every time I get anxious, nervous, or stressed about something, I always count every color I see and it truly helps me. I don't believe in medication for anxiety, stress or depression and I'm so glad I've found a way to cope with it, without

During my life so far, I’ve experienced countless challenges from tough classes, to changing friend groups, to figuring out who I want to become. However, none compare to the arduous struggle to jump out of my comfort zone and conquer my elementary anxiety on which I determined my place among my peers and began the definition of who I was. Starting elementary school, I was cripplingly anxious, not simply the occasional bout of nervousness most people get, but I was truly terrified of what others thought of me and incessantly put an incredible amount of stress on myself for only being in first grade. I couldn’t seem to grasp the concept that it was okay if I messed up, and that perfectionist stress shadowed me for eight more exasperating years.…

Anxiety is something I have always been accustomed to, and even some of my earliest memories involve that anxious, nerve stricken feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was always the shy kid in the class, something to grow out of once I grew older, except that was not the case at all. Anxiety and I have grown closer over the years, so much so, that I developed several crippling anxiety disorders that shaped my life and how I lived it. It came on during my high school years and it affected my school work, my home life, and just about every instance in between. I would wake up every morning filled with anxiety dreading the day ahead of me, and waiting for it all to be over.…
