A person who has had a great influence on my life and is continuing to support me in my journey, is my mother who is five-five feet tall, slim, long wavy brown hair. Her eyes are like mine; very low, Carmel skin color, and her scent is like fresh flowers. I thank god, every day for her she’s is my private therapist, she motives me to continue my education and she also supports me financially and with the care of my children. My mother was born on April 30th of ,1972 born in Cruz Grande, raised in Guerrero, Mexico, she was raised by her grandma because her biological mother couldn’t raise her due to poverty and low on money. I have a nickname that she calls me all the time she says “Mairita, don’t give up on school. Remember why you started in the first-place. Think about your kids’ future and don’t be like me I was stupid in school that’s why I stop in the fourth grade, and you have all the support you need. No matter how long it takes you I’m not going to let you give up you’ve came a long way”. And every time I hear those words it brings tears to my eyes because every mothers dream is for their children to succeed in life and become someone in life. That is why I’m pursuing my dream job of administration of justice. Law enforcement was always in my interest since I was a little girl. She also continues to say once I reached my goal in life my kids don’t have to worry about anything, such as clothes on their backs, a house over their heads, and food on the table. She tells me “Look at me as an example I couldn’t give you materials things but I always made sure there was food on the table”. My mother gave up her job. For the past two years she has dedicated her time to take care of my children at no cost. She gave me an option and I still remember her telling me like it was yesterday, sitting down in the wooden kitchen table eating watermelon fruit with chili powder, she asked if I was going to continue with my education, and I said, “Yeah mom why?” her response was “Okay I’m reciting my job so you can continue to go to college. I will help you with the kids” my mouth drops to the floor “Mom, you don’t have to do that, it’s okay ill find a babysitter for the kids”. Two weeks in, in school my mother was taking my children to their doctors’ appointments, dental appointments, she continues to entertain my children with visits to parks. My children call my mother “Mom” which I don’t mind at all. My children are always looking forward to a day at their grandmothers
