My Life In Vancouver-Personal Narrative

Vancouver is an area that’s forever in my mind. The bright lights of

buildings at night, the sound of waves crashing on the sand, and the fog covering

the mountain tops. I love the sound of the seagulls singing at the sun, and the

roaring sounds of engines on the streets. I love walking down the seashore and

finding shells. I also enjoy driving on long road trips watching the mountains

getting closer.

Seeing my family is a heartwarming moment. The smiles shared around

brings a special comfort and liking to me. I taste foods new to my mouth and

body, drink drinks that enlighten my taste buds. I smell tree as I lean my head out

the window. My feet feel the cold sensation of the lake water and the warm sand

on my toes. I hear

I really enjoyed visiting the Museum of Fine Arts in Downtown Houston, every panting was different many caught my attention, but the one that attracted me the most was the art piece Marsh Sunset made by Martin Johnson Heade, there was so much detail to is and I just couldn’t stop staring at the natural beauty of the landscape. When you drive past landscapes while on a road trip, sometimes no one puts in much thought into the beauty because it's there and the idea of it disappearing never comes to mind, but seeing the Marsh Sunset Piece makes you look into it. This emphasizes the rhythms of nature and the inevitable change of time, just keeps on ticking, it's never ending. Even though the objects in the picture of the view don’t move and remain…

In his TED talk, “The voice of the natural world,” Bernie Krause explains that the discipline of “soundscape ecology” focuses on the broad spectrum of acoustical energy across a variety of temporal and spatial scales in order to see how biological and non-biological sounds interact and influence each other. Krause describes these complex arrangements of sounds that make up the soundscape with the following terms: the “geophony” to describe non-biological sources of sound such as waves in the ocean; “the biophony” to describe all the sounds that are produced by organisms in a given habitat at one time and in one location; and “the anthrophony” to describe sounds generated by humans as well as those made by human-built technology like cars.…

One of my trashes that I have to overcome was when my family came to Canada in 2010-2012 and decided to stay here, I felt quite sad and unhappy, because of leaving all of my friends and most of my relatives back in Vietnam. During April of 2015, I stepped out of the car and onto the beach for the first time in Destin, Florida; the salty sea stung my nose as I breathed in a refreshing breath of briny air. The first step onto the sand was like a bed of blankets; soft and comfortable. The way the white sand glided onto my feet and squished between my toes felt like heaven. The waves were singing a delicate lullaby, pulling me closer to them. As I walk towards the ocean with the warm sand beneath my feet, the cold waves lap at my ankles, as if they want to take me away.…

Botanical Garden Observations On this Wednesday evening at 1800 on October 05, 2016 I am at one of the most prestigious popular hotels on the Las Vegas, NV strip. I am at the botanical garden where a new world is created with flowers and other natural resources to create wonderment for the current season; each season is changed and every year is different. While inside the botanical gardens I first want to soak up my environment with my eyes closed; I can heighten my senses to the various sounds and smells and get a varying perspective on my area. Once I experience the area with my eyes closed for about ten minutes I then want to touch as much as I can and look around.…
