According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. I have found that I when attended class and really focus on what the instructor or professor is teaching I am able to grasp the concept that is being taught.…

The learning style assessment, in my opinion was very accurate with how I feel I study. The assessment consisted of a variety of questions that range from our everyday life out of school to the way we do stuff in classes. Some of the questions asked allowed you to choose multiple answers, which I feel they should have allowed this for the entire assessment rather than just a few. Once completing the assessment, it gave you a breakdown out of all three learning styles; audio, hands on, and visual, which one is your most used way of learning and then listed the rest in a different order following. Each individual learning style had a percentage next to it and also an understanding of what exactly it is below the scores.…

Everyone has a different learning style whether you are a visual learner, an auditory learner, or a tactile learner. I took a quiz on www.educationplanner.org that told me I am a visual learner, “As a visual learner you learn by reading or seeing pictures” (www.education planner.org) I could not agree with this statement anymore, I always have to see pictures it helps so much when I am studying and reading things helps me be able to look back and picture what I was reading in my head. I also looked at the other types of learning styles on this website and I have to say some parts of the auditory and tactile learning styles describe me also like reading out loud sometimes to remember things better like an auditory learner or touching and doing like a tactile learner…

Mostly everyone would agree that a child’s education is critical to their development as a scholar. On the contrary would most people agree that how our next generation is taught will influence not only their academic success but also their motivation and behavior? Educators of past generations typically conformed to the “one size fits all” model of teaching which resulted in predominantly lecture style teaching. George Fox Professor, Donna Webb (2016), says we have made great advancements of transitioning from teachers being “’the sage on the stage’ to a more appropriate student-centered learning environment.” The more this topic of teaching styles came up in my life, the more interested I became.…
