I would then also talk to each individual Soldier one on one and get to know them at a more personal level. I believe when a Leader shows interest in their Soldiers it builds team respect and a high level of moral with in the unit. I am the type of leader that will take notes of what I hear from my Soldiers rather than just sit and listen and not write. It shows that the Leader really cares about them. My biggest core values as a leader are Respect, Integrity, Communication, Honesty, Duty, Commitment, and Loyalty. I believe Respect is at the top of the list and I share that with everyone that works for me. Respect goes both ways and must be held in high regards, if you don’t give respect then most likely you will not get it in return. Integrity and Honesty fall very close to each other. I believe in Integrity because it starts at the top with the subordinates watching and learning these attributes and will often emulate what they see and receive in their leadership. Honesty is the best policy as I always say and will keep you out of big trouble in the end when you tell the truth. There is no reason for lies and only creates more problems when done. We are all human and we will make mistakes, just own up to them and move on while learning from the
