My Experience To A Trip To The Church

Visiting a new church is exciting yet nerve wrecking. I love my home church and I have become comfortable attending every service at my church. However, now walking into a new church I began to get nervous. Every church is different and I was not sure what to expect. I attend a small English Christian church and decided to visit a bilingual Apostolic/Pentecostal Non-Denominational Church. On Sunday May 15, I visited Christ Centered Church. I was invited to attend this church by my friend Art, who is a Deacon there. Christ Centered Church is a newly planted church that is lead by a Pastor who has retired from the marines after twenty-years. The service I attended was not their normal order of service and they held a surprise Pastor’s Appreciation …show more content…
He was very friendly and welcoming. With a smile the Usher thanked me for visiting and handed me a visitors card. Then he helped guide me to a seat. The building was not a traditional church building but an older small public school facility that is no longer used by the public school. They have church service in the auditorium and use some of the classrooms for Sunday school classes. This was different for me because I am use to being in a traditional church building. However, this church finds the building perfect because they use the entire facility and run a small private school there. Since Christ Centered Church was having Pastor’s Appreciation Day the church was set up differently than the usual set up. They had several round banquet style tables that were nicely decorated. I sat comfortably at a table with very friendly people who welcomed me with a smile. In the middle of the table there was a schedule of the order of service for Pastor’s Appreciation Day. As I sat at the table, I felt as though I was at a social event instead of a church service. But the lady that I was sitting next to informed me that they normally have rows of chairs instead of tables for church service. Since it was a special service it would be different than their normal service, so she invited me to come back again next Sunday. She also invited me to a movie family night event that the church was hosting on …show more content…
Then the MC said a prayer for the offering and the Ushers passed around the offering plates. This was slightly different because at my church we use offering bags that are passed down each row. Following the offering, a few of the church leaders gave words of appreciation to their Pastor. Once again, the leaders seemed to personally know their Pastor and they also showed great respect for him. As the church service came to a close, one of the leaders asked for the congregation to circle around their Pastors and pray for them. Most of the church went to the front alter and prayed for their Pastor. I found it unique, although it made me feel a little uncomfortable because I didn’t want to go pray for him because I was not a member of the church. At the same time it also made me feel a little awkward because I was one of the few people still at the their chair. After the lengthy prayer ended, the Pastor lovingly thanked his congregation and dismissed in

It is just such a huge opportunity for all members of the Archdiocese of St. Louis to show thanks for everything given to them by God and to be able to give back without expecting anything in return except for one thing. Grace Baptist Church kindly welcomed my attendance to the first religious service I have been to in over a decade. Each member is actively involved in the church community as well as local charities. Overall positive, the experience enlightened my comprehension of the congregation’s convictions pertaining to religious values and where they are derived from. Pleasantly greeted as well as given a compassionately farewell the members of the church treated me with the utmost respect. Nonetheless, members do not always welcome individuals nicely, such as those within the LGBTQ+ community are not readily accepted as easily.…

I definitely felt a connection with the members because we all shared similar views. There was nothing truly different in our beliefs. The pastor was very relatable in his examples. He made sure he used experiences people understand and related it to the passages in the bible. It was a blustery and gloomy morning as I trudged along the weathered pavement to the entrance of the church. My Sympathetic Nervous System was revved up as I anticipated what lie behind the faded and chipped paint door. Upon entering the room I was jovially greeted by a man with a melodious “Welcome!” There were about thirty people from all different lifestyles, huddled in the room around three long wooden tables. Men and women, some appeared jovial and others exhibited a flat effect.…

It was a whole new church that my family was just attending while we were passing through the area, in all honesty I probably only attended five churches in my life prior, due to the fact that my family travelled so vigorously. This being said I wasn’t very holy I just kinda went because due to my age I ended up playing games most the time, never really having to be preached too. This church was contrastive than the prior experiences I was exposed to because I had to go to the main service area with my mother and father. To be blunt this was my first formal introduction to “my lord.” It began with singing, which I even had to endure at the children's ministry, but then came the hour and a half of my first meeting with who this man people always talked about really was.…

Spanish Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 1. What happened during the services? I arrived at the church a few minutes prior to the service and I was greatly surprised by how well attended the service was. There were dozens of families in a spectrum of Sunday best and work-stained denim jeans and nearly every person wore a yellow and white vest with a red cross embroidered on the lapel. At the entrance there was a small dipping well and although there was no water in it at the moment, (most likely due to the sizeable crowd) people still placed their fingers in the dry well and crossed themselves before entering the chapel and before sitting, they would cross themselves again.…
