Like many cities in America graffiti art and murals are a big part of the local culture; there is even a famous place called Clarion alley which is covered from the walls to floors with street art. Street art is a very common part of urban culture which people use to tell different stories or to send messages. Rock and rap are the most common music genres in San Francisco like many other American cities; however, traditional San Francisco music tends to have a lot of Latin influence. The Bay Area is the home of famous rock groups like Journey and Santana, and rap artists like Too Short and Luniz. My grandfather from Greenville Mississippi, my mom is from Queens New York, and my dad is from a village called Les Baux-de-Provence in southern France. These are my family members who have helped me develop my own culture because they raised me. The food I eat aligns with my dad 's culture the most because he is the chef in my family, I tried to follow his footsteps by learning how to cook to the point where I even worked at a French restaurant for a while. The music I listen to however is more similar to my mom and New York culture though I definitely listen to more west coast music due to the fact it’s where I’m from. My English accent is definitely a combination of my grandad and parent as well as the California accent. Though English is the only language I can speak fluently I have been forced to learn some French and German in order to communicate with my family in France and Switzerland because they speak no English incept for my unkle.
