The authors’ have gained a deeper insight into the perspective of various criminals who have been convicted of murder. Through interviews they have sought to understand the reasoning and thought process as to what made these criminals commit their crime. From this they are able to hypothesize the murder as an act of power, in order to heal a ‘wound’, this emphasizing the way by which personality disorders can coerce people to take extreme actions. These studies provide a valid view into the aspect of disorders and are useful in providing information about the causation of murders, particularly in the dual murder case they study. In saying this there is evidence to suggest that actions committed may be out of control of these criminals, however the actuality of these disorders cannot be understood without experience. This helps with the research as it provides an insight
