Martin Luther King, Jr uses many different references to the Bible. “Until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream. (Amos 5:24),” he uses that specific verse from the Bible, to emit that they won’t cease until they have the justice to continue living in America without being thrown out like trash. Another verse he refers to is (Galatians 3:28) referring that every soul, every animal, and every living thing is a child of Jesus Christ. A child of Christ is a child that is equal and deserves to have justice for themselves. That each child, and each human being will not have to fight for the rights, or have to bail one another out of jail for common acts. King uses repetition to feed into the minds of the nation listening to his speech. He repeats, “we must, we must,” to emphasize that together if we want to become a great strong nation, “we must,” do these things in order for dreams to come true. In addition, he repeats, “I have a dream,” throughout his speech. “I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; that one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.” King said these words because he wants the world to know that all black souls , and King himself want the world to join as one. King used these repetitions to create a whole hearted meaning into his speech, and for the world to understand what it is that should happen to the world, not what has happened.
