When Ted wrongly invaded Agnes diary and misinterpreted what she wrote, he got the wrong image about Agnes actions. In Ted's point of view, If Agnes were to kill old thing it wouldn't be the dog. During his thought process he states, “ why couldn't I be like that old dog of hers she loved him” (14). That old dog was there for Agnes from the start, so why would she kill her practically best friend. Agnes avoided the whole situation. They were both confuse and more conflicting toward each other out for different reasons. By the way she described the situation, it sounded similar to her issues with Ted.
