The National Minimum Wage Act outlines the minimum pay which an employee is legally entitled to earn for every hour worked and nothing below the national minimum figure. The current minimum wage for people over the age of 25 years old is £7.50 per hour, 21-24 years old £7.05 per hour and between the ages of 18-20 years old can earn £5.60 per hour. This law affects Tesco because when the organisation creates a job description and job advert they are required to state how much an applicant would earn an hour if they are being paid through a salary.
