Miles and Alaska are different in many ways contrasted to most people. Miles was not a sociable person, until he came to Culver Creek. When Miles lived in Florida he did not have friends. Miles parents threw him a going away party, and only too people came. Mile was not sure how to talk to people at his new school Culver Creek. Miles would think of ways to talk to new people. Miles would hope for someone to come up and start a conversation. After Miles met his new roommate Chip (people call him Colonel) they went to Alaskas room to get cigarettes. Miles took the cigarette from the Colonel, and took a puff. This show that Miles wanted Alaska and the Colonel to like him. Also it show that he did not know how to say no, because he had never had to before. “Not really,” he said then lit the cigarette and handed it to me. I inhaled. Cough. Wheezed. Gasp for breath. Cough again” (Green 16). Miles is a very humble teenager. Miles will repeatedly buy the Colonels cigarettes. Miles is loyal to Colonel and stays by his side. “He walkes out of the room, again just assuming I’d follow,and this time I did. Mears fully, the sun was descending towards the horizon. We walked five doors down to room 48” (Green 14). Instead of leaving Alaska at school over Thanksgiving Miles stayed with her. Mile stayed with her the whole time over Thanksgiving, so she wouldn't be lonely. Alaska is one interesting girl. Alaska is very interested in the laybrinth and talks to her friends about it. Alaska you ask if they knew their way out of the laybrinth. When Alaska asked Mile that question he was not even sure what it was, but Miles thought hard about it. Alaska loves pranks a lot. Alaska tends to be the mastermind over the years with the great and memorable pranks. There was many books in Alaska’s room. Alaska’s plan was to to read all of her books she had. Miles really admired that about Alaska. It was strange to think of Alaska as someone who was very sad. At time Alaska would randomly break down and cry her eyes out. “ so I could not have been more surprised when she showed up sobbing at room 43 just as I was putting the finishing touches on my final paper for English” (Green 94). Alaska said once to Miles that she smoked to die faster. Alaska would say that everything is her fault. Miles in Alaska are way more than ordinary, and both are similar in some ways. G-predicting Y- I predicted after I got to the “Before” section in Looking for Alaska that something terribly bad was going to happen R- Alaska, Colonel, and Miles were drunk - nothing good was to come from being impaired - The three were
