First Lady Michelle Obama is the first African American First lady and, the wife of the 44th president of the United States Barack Obama. Raised in a middle class family, living in a one-bedroom apartment Obama learned the value of strong work ethics. Through hard work and dedication Obama graduated from Princeton University and Harvard law school. Prior to becoming the first lady, she worked as a layer, Chicago city administrator, and community outreach worker. In 2007, Obama scaled back her own professional work to attend to campaign obligations during her husbands run for the Democratic presidential nomination.
