The arts help provide new ideas and a new approach. We learn from our past experience, art is a way to communicate. The Mexican culture reflects the country’s history. Mexico is known for their folk art traditions. The art was from 1800 BC to AD 1500. Mexican people prefer their art to have angular, linear patterns, and three-dimensional ceramics. The clothes are colourful and embroidered. The Spanish started the arts by building monuments and other religious art, such as altars. In the period after independence into the early 20th century, Mexican fine arts continued to be largely influenced by European traditions. The foundation of Mexican music comes from its indigenous sounds and heritage. The people who first lived in Mexico used drums (such as the teponaztli), flutes, rattles, conches as trumpets and their voices to make music and dances. The traditional contemporary music of Mexico was written during and after the Spanish colonial period. Traditional instruments, such as the Mexican vihuela used in Mariachi music, were adapted from their old world predecessors and are now considered very Mexican. The most successful Mariachi group is Vargas de Tecalitlán, which was originally formed in 1897. Music, dance and art reflect Mexico’s history and Mexico itself. Music, drama and dance are all connected in a way as you can see regarding to the Mexican art forms. Music helps enhance the dance and visual arts form. Without music, we would be dancing to silence and for art we wouldn’t really know what to paint because music helps ideas flow and music tells
