Many of these ancient people’s outstanding achievements are still current today, one if these is the gastro economic culture with the unique original products and the way of cooking them collectively. Traditional Mexican cooking and the traits of popular that distinguish it are part of a complex cultural system expressed through rituals, religion and community life. Culinary customs are passed down from generations which instantly becomes daily habits. Their knowledge of cooking is essential of cultural and ceremonial rites that ensure community cohesion. Maize has been identified as the beginning and end of humanity by the indigenous people of Mexico because of the symbolic value of food.
The culinary culture is expressed around the family hearth and in public spaces like in plazas, market squares, and local diners. The culinary culture is also a big factor for social cohesion. For example, wherever there is a ceremony there is always a feast which could be from baby baptism to a funeral. I really didn’t like the taste at first as I wasn’t used to the ingredients or spice that was used in cooking the meal. I had aguachille and I was disgusted at the first bite. The taste sent a thousand volt through my brain and I could not help but spit out the food from my mouth. I asked for another menu and I was served burritos. I loved the burritos instantly and I have been making them at home ever since. On a different occasion, I had the enchiladas and that tasted delicious. I would say that some of the Mexican food has some kind of African flavor to it. African food is mostly spicy as well as the Mexican food because it is cooked with chili peppers. I love that the Mexican culture is more family-oriented. Everyone likes to eat together even if there is no table to eat from. My friend is from Mexico and her food tastes different from the typical Mexican restaurant that I visit. It is spicier with chili peppers and has a more refined aroma. There is always extended family around whenever I visit. There are uncles, aunts, and even grandparents and the kids are always happy and
