Messianiic Prophecies

The messiah that Israel is still expecting will have some tall orders to fulfill. It seems it will be next to impossible feat, to beat a peaceful person beyond recognition, while at the same time, knocking all of their bones out of joint and not breaking a single one. What a public relations “nightmare” this would pose in modern day Israel. Who will fulfill the written Messianic Prophesies in Israel? Who is it going to be? It seems no one will be able to accomplish this. It seems to be an impossible task to fulfill the Messianic Prophecies in this day and age. Jesus has already fulfilled the “Pre-Return” Messianic Prophecies. The prophecies that regard His return, the “Post Return” prophecies, will be fulfilled in the future. These people claim that Jesus thoroughly studied the Hebrew Bible to the point that He proficiently knew the Messianic prophecies regarding the Messiah’s actions. They believe Jesus, began to campaign that He was the Messiah, in which He began performing the prophecies written pertaining to the Messiah. However, these Rabbis view Jesus as a fake messiah. It is an interesting stance due to these Rabbis’ actual study of the historicity of Jesus. These Rabbis came to the realization that Jesus did what is written of Him. If one believes even the smallest chance that Jesus is a fraud is remotely true, that forces the person to believe that the Messiah (from Bethlehem making him Palestinian, thus fulfilling Micah 5:2) would still need to come and perform the entirety of the scriptures regarding the prophetic events; the events that Jesus has already performed. As I mentioned earlier, I see major problems with this person being beat beyond recognition and beat until every joint is knocked out of place with not a single bone broken. While at the same time, having their hands and feet pierced, given vinegar for thirst, and proclaiming to be the Son of God - thus fulfilling Psalms2:7 - a main reason that Jesus was targeted to be killed (John 5:18). How could someone arrange to be born in Bethlehem? How does one arrange to be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver? How do you arrange to be crucified? How do you arrange to have soldiers gamble for your clothing? How do you arrange to have all your bones knocked out of joint, while at the same time, not having any broken? How do you arrange for two thieves to be killed along the side of you, yet having their legs broken, but not yours? How do you escape from the grave and appear to people after being crucified? How do you do this hundreds of years before it actually

The book “The Messiah: Revealed, Rejected, Received” by William Varner explains to us what a messiah is and why we even need a messiah.. The book shows that when the Jews wanted God to send them down someone they were not satisfied with what God had in store for them. Lastly we see who the messiah God sent is, and how that after most people walked away from the Lord, some were still choosing to follow. As this book goes into great detail addressing all those topics I just mentioned, the overall theme is showing us what a messiah is and what the importance of one is from the point of view of a believer, while still being aware of the Jews believed.…

Prophetic Jesus, Prophetic Church is a book written by Thomas Johnson. Johnson wrote this book to challenge taking the Luke-Acts Christianity into contemporary Christianity. The challenge is that the church would have an ear to hear its prophetic calling. The overall purpose of the book is to offer a scriptural foundation for the ministry of the church so that it is grounded and coherent in the ministry of Jesus. Johnson argues that Luke and Acts, presents Jesus and the apostles in terms of prophecy.…

Glen Jeansonne prefaces his book Messiah of the Masses: Huey P. Long and the Great Depression by stating that he believes Huey P. Long was largely misunderstood. Jeansonne feels that Long is frequently studied out of context and he attempts to provide that context for the reader. He insists that Huey was a man of “great abilities and tragic flaws,” who was neither entirely good nor evil (xi). Except for this introductory passage, Jeansonne provides no other personal opinions of Long, only the facts, leaving the reader to interpret his and formulate their own opinions of the Kingfish. With the context provided, if one could place Long on a spectrum with light being good and dark being evil, it seems that all but his biggest supporters would…

Perkins/ Art of Prophesying, pp. 69-70. • Artificial memory aid (remembering places, images, and then what to say) is not supported by William Perkins for several reasons. First, it should not be used because it is cultic and unworthy manner of preparing sermon. • Perkins rather advocates for syllogistically, axiomatical, or methodical way of thinking to imprint the sermon on our mind.…

In viewing many online debates between Christians and non-believers concerning the matter of God, often times it is the non-believer who obtains the upper hand in the argument. When confronted with difficult questions concerning God’s revelation, many Christians are unable to properly defend the questions of objectors or even the Christian faith. For many Christians, God’s revelation is through the lens of a less than Christian worldview where knowledge of God is imperfect and clarified through societal norms, preconceptions, and judgments (McGrath, 2014). Lacking the biblical knowledge to fend off a non-believers questioning concerning matters of faith, God’s revelation included, Christians resort to their own reason based off theirs and…

The three passion predictions in the Gospel Of Mark have very similar structures. They each talk about the Son of Man suffering at the hands of other men and eventually dying then being resurrected after three days. Additionally, they also talk about how his followers were unable to comprehend what he was saying. In the first prediction found in Mark 8:31-33 Jesus tells “them” referring to his disciples that “The Son of Man must suffer greatly and be rejected by elders, the chief priests and the scribes”.…

The stories of Jesus are represented through the four New Testament Gospels: Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John. Each Gospel emphasizes on particular principles that represent Jesus differently. Jesus is seen as the suffering Messiah in all four Gospels, but each Evangelist puts in his own intake, hence expanding on the original Markan portrait of Jesus. The writers of the Gospels give their own theological assertions, and understandings, which in effect creates a new portrait of Jesus for each Gospel. The Gospel portraits vary and represent a different and evolving view of Jesus’, stories, and traditions over time.…

Another group whose criticism seems to receive a criticism as harsh as the Karaites seems to be the Christians, whom Maimonides voices his discontent towards several times through his work. Perhaps even less forgiving with Christians, when speaking of Jesus of Nazareth the Rambam attempts to severe Jesus from the Jewish lineage, claiming that he is a Jew of virtue of his birth, and this alone, and casts him out for his false prophesying. Maimonides states that the coming of Jesus as Moshiach was in fact, not prophesied by Isaiah, but rather was noted by Daniel as a false messiah who would try to lead those of the House of Israel astray. He cites the Daniel verse “The children of the impudent among your people shall make bold to claim prophecy,…

“Chapter 22 the Prophecy Comes True” I had discovered a similarity that Percy and I share is that I to have been betrayed or stabbed in the back by someone who I thought was a loving, caring friend. Not necessarily in the same way but it did hit us by surprise. The person whom betrayed me said to think of her as a friend because her job was to help us think of the future. Luke betrayed Percy because he was one of the first friends that he made at Camp Half Blood.…
