Memorial Hermann was created in 1907. The Memorial Hermann System is the largest not-for-profit health system in southeast Texas, which means we serve all regardless of ability to pay or insurance status. Our not-for-profit health care system consists of 14 hospitals, seven Cancer Centers, three Heart & Vascular Institutes, and 27 sports medicine and rehabilitation centers. Memorial Hermann continues to expand by opening its new Critical Care centers in Summer Creek and Sugar Land, Texas. I am fortunate enough to work in the Emergency Department at Memorial Hermann Northeast. Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, MHNE, opened in 1977 as the Northeast Medical Center, housing 132 beds.
