Ethics is the restraint of dealing with what is good, bad, and with ethical duty and responsibility. Three basic principles that form the foundation of moral thought in healthcare are: (1) Autonomy to respect the individuality and self-respect of each person, and others, (2) Non-maleficence, to avoid harm and elimination of harmful situations, and (3) Beneficence, and integrity.
