Women are very often viewed as sex objects as they are made to look alluring and appealing in order to gain attraction from a section of the audience. Media has played a big role in the negative perception of women represented in adverts.
An example is the ‘L’Oréal beauty company which always shows beautiful young women with smile and ‘perfect skin’ which actually appeals to audience more than the actual product advertised. Due to adverts like this women aspire for things that are impossible forgetting that this ads are have gone through different process of ‘perfection’ because a representation like this beautiful young women in adverts go a longer way from selling the advertised products because they actually connote the ‘perfect’
