Another way we have tried to keep Lincoln’s Promise is the committed efforts to ending veteran homelessness in 2015. Between 2009 and 2012, during a period of a lengthened economic recovery. Our nation has decreased homeless veterans by 17 percent. More needs to be done, but we have achieved a remarkable reversal. Hopefully, these numbers will continue to decrease.
Our gratitude for veterans should not be a one day a year event, but an commitment on every day of every year. There must be no question that this great nation provides the smartest, most talented, and courageous people in the world.
