Unlike Reuven, I was not batting at the time of the accident but instead I was stealing second base, which I did so successfully in the fact that I was safe but unsuccefully in the fact that I broke my arm. I knew instantly that it was broken and immediately left the field and went to the doctor and had my arm set and put into a full arm cast that was hot pink. At the time I was only twelve and the cast made it so I could not fully extend my arm so simple tasks like doing my hair or buttoning my pants up became impossible to do by myself. This injury also took me out of softball for the rest of the season and also out of school volleyball that same year.…

The next day, we had another soccer game in the morning and I wanted to play, but, a parent on our team is a nurse and she told my mom that I needed to sit out and go to the doctor Monday because she thought I had a concussion. Monday came, and I went to the doctor and they told me I had a terrible concussion and should go to the hospital to see if my skull was cracked. Needless to say, the doctors found nothing wrong but a terrible concussion, and they told me I had the choice to quit soccer or keep playing and become affected by the concussion in 10 years, so, I made the hardest decision I’ve ever made; I quit the game I fell in love with at just 5 years…
