began schooling at Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta. After finishing at Yonge Street Elementary School, he attended David T. Howard Elementary School. He also attended the Atlanta University Laboratory School and Booker T. Washington High School. He scored ridiculously high on his college entrance exam at Booker High School which caused him to not formally finish high school, he went onto college in his junior year of high school. He entered college when he was 15 years old. King graduated from Morehouse College in 1948 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. It was at Morehouse that Martin Luther King Jr. had learned about the writings of Henry David Thoreau, a professor. He encountered racism and problems on an everyday basis.
