This was against Alabama state law to not allow him to have her seat. Rosa Parks was then immediately arrested. A few days later, the community leaders began a bus boycott and chose Martin Luther King Jr. to lead this boycott. This boycott was strictly nonviolent and was held in order to try and end segregation among the African American community.
