Marble Madness is a maze game which is designed by Mark Cerny for 1 or 2 players. In designing the game, Mark Cerny had an inspiration from miniature golf and racing golf. This game was published by Atari Game in 1984. The game was commercially successful during the period. In the game, Players have to control the marble to reach the goal before time runs out. The marble can move around walkways, ramps and other obstacles. There are different kinds of obstacles in the game, such as the other marbles will move between one of the walkways to block the player’s marble and unknown creatures will attack the marble. The marble also need to avoid jumping in the overhanging cliff or the hole which will make them die. When the marble die in the game, …show more content…
Marble Madness is a two dimensions game. However, the designer used the points, line and plane to make the maze like three dimensions. The designer used the line to show the players where the plan is lower and higher in the maze. Moreover, during 80s and 90s, most of sorts in arcade are the shooting game and adventure games, Marble Madness are different from these sorts. That is why the game was so conspicuous between other games.
I have played the game a few times. It is fun than I thought. I can feel that Marble Madness could be so successful because of the three reasons: game's difficulty, unique visual design, and stereo soundtrack. Firstly, the game is more difficult than other games. I have played other games which were published in the eighties and early nineties. I could easily pass most of the games. However, when I played Marble Madness, I tried many time to pass the first level. The marble was greatly influence on the terrain. Therefore, I had to carefully move the ball to avoid it became out of control. And many unknown creatures’ paths are too random to avoid them attacking my marble. These challenges appear me to keep playing the game. Moreover, there is unique visual design in the game. The maze’s design which I mentioned before is unique in other games. The colors and the line are plentiful in the game. All of these can make players curious

The first reason is when someone talked to Tom he did not respond and he just stayed silent. In the text it states, “the spectators were quiet, but the defendant said something. Atticus whispered to him, and Tom Robinson was silent” (Lee 233).…
