Marilyn Monroe Photography Analysis

Marilyn Monroe was an American actress and model., Marilyn was famous for playing a “dumb blonde” characters in T.V shows and movies. Maryland died in 1962 and half a century later she is still a loved and inspirational icon. On the 15th of September 1954, a photographer named Sam Shae shot a worldwide known famous photo on Marilyn Monroe when her skirt flew up it was known as the “flying skit” photo. Sam idea was to use a picture from the movie theatre scene as a logo to promote an oncoming film. He saw a chance to revisit this “skirt- blowing” idea and turned it into one of the most famous image in the world.

This pictures social distance is a front view so that the viewer can see the effect of Marilyn’s dress blowing up, it also shows her model side as she is posing for the camera and is showing her body off. The photographer would have taken this photo from the front so that he could capture the emotions the Marilyn was giving and her outfit so that people would be inspired by her style.
