Malignant Melanoma
Melanoma is caused mainly from the intense exposure of UV radiation from the sun. Melanoma starts in the epidermis and stratum Basale layers. The UV rays will eventually cause the DNA replications which will make the cells replicate very fast making the cancer tumors. When treated early it is most of the time solved and doesn’t come back. When the early melonoma is not treated it will soon turn into malignant melonoma and will spread around the body to many vital organs. If not treated it can lead a person with a hard battle against it and can lead many people even to death. Malignant melanoma causes one of the most skin cancer death’s to this day, Eventhough it is said to be not as common.

Another prevention of getting it really bad is knowing what to look for when examining your own body.
Surgery is one of the treatments for early Melanoma. One of the main treatments for later stages include chemotherapy. Doctors will also do grafting when there is a larger amount of the cancer in an area. Grafting is removing the large mass and replacing it with different tissue from another part of healthy skin. Other treatments include Immuno therapy and targeted therapy.
When melnoma first forms it affects the pigmintatinon in the skin. Melanocytes which produce the pigment protect against UV radiation. If it is localized to just an area of the skin the effects are minimal. When melanoma occurs in the eye its almost always in the uvea , it can cause the patitent to have blurred vision and even see shadows and flashing lights. The worst thing that can happen with this type of cancer is when it spreads to other organs in the body, it can affect the liver, lungs, and brain. When it gets to the liver it affects the bodies ability to digest food. In the lungs it affects its ability to pump oxygen into the body and to pump carbon dioxide out, all together the lugs will not be able to function properly and that will compramise the bodys ability to breathe properly.
