Social medias are not helping it either because they are making standard for women even higher than it usually should be. And those standards are ruining people’s mind tricking them into believing impossible perfect human being and females looking at reality start to self-pitying themselves and try to change. Standards should be used to organize but somehow it’s now shape to fit in. Turning on TV there’s only pretty faces will appear, TV stations never use average looking women for their broadcast, it applies for commercials also. But people watch TV or uses social medias daily and seeing only “perfect” woman unconsciously teaches them that women must look good no matter what, ignoring the fact that to shoot these commercials or photos that are shared publicly, spent thousand hours on make up, Photoshop and video editing behind scenes. So both genders take different approach to this as males raise their standard and women change. If adults learn from things they see daily this early it would be piece of cake for children. Children learn from things that surround them and usually girls play with Barbie since it’s the best toy that would fit into “girly”.
