Malcolm X also known by his birth name Malcolm Little, was born May 19, 1925, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the fourth child out of eight children. His mother was a homemaker, and his father was a priest. During his father's civil rights activism, the family faced harassment from white supremacist groups like the Ku Klux Klan. Malcolm later on in life became a key speaker for the Nation of Islam. He believed in something called the "Black Power" philosophy. Malcolm did not really like the non violent movement because he feared that African Americans would lose control of the movement.
