Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award is awarded to those U.S. organizations for performance excellence in education, business, health care, and non-profits. The award goes to those organizations who have demonstrated effective and efficient operations, and continuous improvement in the delivery of products or services. Congress named this award after Malcolm Baldrige, who was Secretary of Commerce from 1981 until 1987. The award was due to Mr. Baldrige implementing the quality improvement act to aid in the long-term prosperity in the United States.

There are seven categories with a total of 1000 points. I will evaluate Crocs against each category below:

Customer Focus- Crocs “participated in many trade shows in every industry that could benefit from the product, such as garden shows, boat shows, and pool supply shows” (Schroeder, et al., 2013, p. 494). They started the company based on customer satisfaction and are keenly aware that their business exists because of their customers; I am assigning 85 points.
4. Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management- Crocs proven track record and analysis shows that they do what it takes to keep a successful product on hand; I am assigning 75 points.
5. Workforce Focus- The company puts employee safety first, and takes its responsibility towards their workers very seriously. They adhere to a Social Compliance Code of Conduct which dictates best practices in the workplace to ensure stringent enforcement and compliance. I am assigning 80 points.
6. Process Management- Crocs has an excellent understanding of quality improvement. They utilize the lean system to achieve this to cut down on waste, repetitive tasks, improve customer satisfaction, and improve sales efficiency. I am assigning 75 points.
7. Results- I am assigning 400 points to this category as Crocs has proven they are a viable and successful business committed to long-term growth and
