In Macbeth, he kills the man that he was once supposed to be loyal too. Not only does this test his loyalty but also his desire for power. According to Macbeth, “Hear it not Duncan, for it is a kneell that summons thee to heaven or to hell” (2, 1, 62-63). Macbeth blames Banquo of evil things happening because he knows that he stands in his way for him to become king but doesn’t want to commit the action so he persuades two murders to kill Banquo. According to Macbeth, “Know that it was he, in the times past, which held you so under furton, which your thought had been our innocent self” (3, 1, 75-78). This shows how Macbeths ambition changes him from being good friends with Banquo to enemies. His state of mind is so lost because of the deaths and eventually ends up seeing Banquos ghost at the banquet that he hosts. It states in The Tragedy of Macbeth, “Though canst not say I did it. Never shake thy gory locks at me” (3, 4, 50-51). Macbeth communicates with Banquos ghost in front of people that only he sees and this shows how he has gone insane. This affects the plot because many see how there king has lost it and how Macbeth feels so much guilt. Macbeth has done so much evil that his enemy's want revenge because of his crimes.
