Macbeth wasn’t crowned the king just yet for which he is still at his old castle. The castle is relatively ancient with its grey walls and exposed with a gigantic wooden door at the front. The moonlight shone on the sky, and the shadows surrounded the castle. Inside the castle, a giant of a man was standing in the doorway. The man invited me inside the castle, his face was almost hidden by his curly hair, and you could barely see his eyes. The man was the soon to be named the King of Scotland. Macbeth wasn't too happy to meet me but as the future King, he wanted to share his story with the people of Scotland. Macbeth started with that becoming a king was never his goal but the atrocious murder of his cousin has left him with the responsibilities. Macbeth continued that the first sign of him moving up the rank was when he slew the King of Norway and he described that he filleted the body of the Norwegian King and then took the head off. (1.2. 55-74) Then when asked about the death of King Duncan Macbeth wept for a long time, and described that he himself insisted that the King comes to his castle for the celebration of his Thane of Cawdor achievement, but let alone did he no that the soldiers were going to assassinate him. According to the people, King Duncan was the people’s king. In essence the king was a man. The king had good times and bad times but always weighed with the responsibility he accepted for others whereas Macbeth is the blood thrust warrior in his crusade of getting the throne. Several rumors were that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth killed King Duncan and framed the soldiers. As well as that Malcolm and Donalbain fled because they knew Macbeth has committed the murder and Macbeth would kill them as well in order to gain the throne. The people of Scotland backed up their suspicion through the prophecies of the three witches. One of the citizen said that the first prophecy the witches made was to Macbeth, “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, thane of Glamis… Cawdor… king hereafter.” (1.3.50-55) through the prophecy the witches prophesied that Macbeth was going to be become the king but they didn’t mention how which forced Macbeth to take the action on his own hand and the idea of taking the throne. Another citizen said that the witches also prophesied that, “Fair is foul and foul is fair.” (1.1.11) The citizens interpreted the prophecy as fair is good and foul is evil and the prophecy reflected upon Macbeth because King Duncan believed Macbeth to be a loyal servant but Macbeth betrayed the King in order to get the throne making the prophecy a cruel
