Space requirement present in the Manila zoo are; training stall its shed can accommodate 2 elephants and the whole area can accommodate 2 adult elephants. Regarding the standards, indoor facilities must provide adequate room for elephants to move about and lie down without restriction. Appropriate space should be available to allow elephants to be separated either through individual stalling or through the use of restraints and barriers are needed.
Substrates such as sand pool is present, bedding materials is concrete flooring and the area is cleaned twice a week in the manila zoo. On standard basis regarding outdoor housing habitat surfaces must consist primarily of natural substrates (e.g., soil, sand, grass) that provide good drainage. While indoor housing substrate must be able to be cleaned daily and must be quick to dry. Hard floor surfaces must be relatively smooth to prevent excessive pad wear, but not so smooth that they become slippery when wet.
