Raising my virtual child in the virtual life simulation was very eye-opening and a great experience. I attempted to raise my child as an authoritative parent due to the fact that my parents are authoritarians, and it was not the best parenting style. An authoritarian parent is a parent who is high in demandingness and low in responsiveness (Arnett, 2012). The three triarchic intelligences are; practical, analytical and creative (Arnett, 2012). Analytical intelligence is intelligence that can be measured through IQ tests (Arnett, 2012). Brians’ analytical intelligence was amply developed because he had a high IQ and he was in the gifted program throughout middle school and high school. However, Brians’ practical and creative intelligences were not very developed. Practical intelligence is the ability to apply information to everyday problems and social situations (Arnett, 2012). Creative intelligence is the ability to produce creative insights and problem solving strategies (Arnett, 2012). The two intelligences weren’t very developed. This is because Brian struggle with making good decisions in the midst of peer pressure. His creative intelligence wasn’t very developed because he struggled in music and art and he disliked being told to come up with new
