Wk2 Ministry Practice Paper
The three topics that I have chosen to formulate an MAP (Ministry Action Plan) for future ministry are Effective Evangelism, Planning of Worship Services, and Visitation and the Ministry.
The evangelism ministry base its purpose on the Word found in Pro. 11:30 (KJV) “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise”. The ministry views its goals as actions to facilitate learning and practices of discipleship. Jesus Christ is our primary focus and to glorify our Heavenly Father is our main purpose.
Some steps that will be taken to accomplish our purpose and mission are (1) Provide training for sending people out into the surrounding community. (2) Training is provided by our pastor through his sermons and workshops. (3) To meet on a regular basis. (4) To evaluate our progress for …show more content…
Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:” (James 5:14 KJV). Not only are the leaders in the church to pray over the sick but lay members as well are invited to participate in the Visitation Ministry. The purpose of this ministry is to promote the spirit of caring for one another. Caring for those in need, for the widows, for the orphans and the homeless (1Tim 5:3-16 KJV). Nursing homes are full of people that need to know they are not forgotten. Visiting the hospitals and those who are homebound members of the church is a must. Those involved in this ministry must also be Spirit filled, and Christ-centered people who are committed to the long-term ministry of loving and caring for others in the household of faith as well as family members at the family’s request. Here again, the pastor assigns the duties and organizes the ministry’s mission and goals. Training has to be provided, which would probably be done by the pastor or another leader in the church who is well versed in directing this
