The age 21 is a big deal for many young adults, but why is it so important? The reason is exactly why people are excited for their 18th birthday, because it allows you to do something new and legally. This big thing that a young person has been waiting for 21 years has finally happened, They can drink alcohol. Why should they have to wait 21 years, why not make the drinking age 18 since it used to be 18 until 1995? When they turn 18 they become an adult, where they are told that their life is up to them. They can make your own decisions no matter what the consequences are. Alcohol can’t cause cancer but there is a chance of liver failure, but there are always dangers in every product, such as how toys can be choking hazard, cars can create accidents, hair dryers can start fires, and even sunscreen which is meant to protect people from sun rays, can be flammable. People just need to be mature about drinking. It can even help out our community.
Small towns and sometimes even big towns all have little businesses, and all businesses rely on the community. By lowering the drinking age,these smaller restaurants and bars can grow bigger in their community due to the more revenue these 18 through 20 year olds are bringing in. By lowering the MLDA, it could also help the government and states because it will collect more tax revenue (procon.org).
